From Sacred Vows to a Midnight Mosh Pit: Brantly + Nick’s Concert Wedding Featured on Green Wedding Shoes
When Brantly first reached out, she didn’t mince words:
“We’re hoping to throw an amazing concert at one of the most classic venues in Austin… We aren’t really interested in a formal dinner or all the other traditions. We just want to throw a bangin’ party!”
And so we did.
This wedding was recently featured on Green Wedding Shoes, and if you’re wondering how a couple pulled off five bands, 500 guests, and a fully traditional Catholic ceremony and a glitter-drenched indie concert… the answer is simple:
Open minds, open hearts, and a planning team unafraid to toss the rulebook.
An All-Day Love Fest, Built Like a Setlist
Brantly and Nick’s day started with classic roots. The morning ceremony at St. Austin’s Catholic Church was a nod to faith and family — a meaningful way to honor generations of tradition.
But the minute they slipped out of formal attire and into dance-ready looks, everything shifted.
At Stubb’s BBQ, the energy transformed into a live music festival. Guests arrived to papel picado banners, a build-your-own bloom bar, and the unmistakable hum of a sound check — because this wasn’t a wedding with music. This was a wedding as music.
We’re often asked how weddings like this feel so seamless. The truth? They don’t happen by chance. They happen because every beat is planned:
🎶 When would the marching band process in?
🎶 Who’s swapping out mics between bands?
🎶 How do you feed 500 people without ever losing the energy?
🎶 What happens when the bride decides to crowd surf?
This is the part of planning we love most: the transformation of an idea — sometimes a wild, edge-of-possible idea — into a fully realized experience that flows without a hitch.
The Logistics: Five Bands, One Night, Zero Dead Air
When you tell people you’re booking five bands for your wedding, they often imagine chaos. (And to be fair, it could be — without the right planning.) But here’s the thing: music is in Brantly and Nick’s bones. Nick played multiple instruments with the Family and Friend Jam Band. Their siblings and closest friends are all musicians. They knew exactly how they wanted this night to sound — and feel.
Our job was to make sure every transition felt intentional, never clunky:
🎵 Sound checks and stage resets were sequenced like clockwork behind the scenes.
🎵 Food stations and cake cutting were placed to redirect attention during setup (what we lovingly call our “look over here, not over there” strategy).
🎵 Lighting design and A/V production kept the mood shifting naturally from laid-back BBQ hour to full-blown concert.
🎵 A midnight transition brought the entire party indoors to DJ Wahhabi Lobby, breakfast tacos, and a late-night dance floor.
If you’ve ever watched a record skip in the middle of a set, you know why details matter. Seamless flow is what turns a “cool idea” into a legendary experience.

This wedding is proof that the best celebrations don’t follow a template. They start with a story.
For Brantly and Nick, that story was about music. About family. About a dance floor that felt more like a stage.
If you’ve spent any time around us, you know we don’t believe in forcing traditions or trends on couples who don’t care for them. We believe in listening — to your ideas, your energy, your “what if we…” musings. We love nothing more than hearing a couple say:
“We don’t know if this is possible.”
And then replying:
“Let’s find out.”

Client Love
We were so honored to read these words in Brantly’s interview with Green Wedding Shoes:
“We wanted our wedding to feel exactly like us… The music, the colors, the laid-back flow. It felt like a reflection of everything we love.”
To us, there’s no higher compliment.
